Firstly, apologies for the gap in reviews on Kingsdown Roots, there was a technical issue with my camera which meant I had to buy a new one (hence lack of original photos recently). Anyway, having bought the very nice Canon 700D I’ve got a big backlog to get through – the first of which are a lovely pair of Dolce and Gabbana black sneakers.
As many of you will know I’m a sucker for a hi-top and at the beginning of the year I was very impressed with a pair I bought (and reviewed). The dilemma I had was that during the hot weather it’s hard to put together an outfit that isn’t going to leave you melting with big chunky shoes. I wanted to find a pair of shoes I could wear with shorts that still look a little bit smarter than a normal pair of trainers.
I came across these Dolce and Gabbana black sneakers in the Farfetch sale for around £180 (reduced from £260), the fit is true to size which is always a bonus and they look fantastic. Some great details around the stitching and around the laces, I’m also a big fan of the white sole all around the bottom. I’ve worn them a few times and they are comfortable although to be honest I did get some rubbing on the back of the heels, this is to be expected as they are made of leather. Overall they are a great pair of smart sneakers that are reasonably priced and will finish off any smart summer look.
