I managed to buy quite a few different pairs of shoes over the holiday period (much to the delight of my credit card company), this post is review two of the three.
Dolce and Gabbana is fast becoming my most popular designer right now, I have a number of shirts, t-shirts and hoodies from them but until recently I’d never owned any of their shoes. A very nice pair of black hi-top trainers/sneakers from their AW14 range caught my eye and I was lucky enough to spot them in the January sales, reduced to £350 from £565.
I ordered a pair of EU 43’s which are UK 10’s and these fitted perfectly, the Marc Jacobs sneakers I also bought recently on the other hand required an inner sole. The design of the boot is unusual, it’s what caught my attention in the first place; there are two heavy duty metallic zips down each side of the shoe and on one side there is a leather Velcro strap that acts as a securing mechanism.
The tongue of the shoe is different too, there are two layers; the first being a normal style tongue but the second becomes free once you un-do both zips – I’ve taken a photo of this on one of the images below to help better illustrate my point. I really like the look of these boots, in particular the sole which looks quite futuristic in white around the base. I’ve worn them more than once and on both occasions they felt very comfortable, not heavy at all (not like Givenchy hi-tops tend to be) – overall an unusual design from Dolce and Gabbana which looks great, very happy!
