I’ve had these Givenchy hi-tops on my wish list for quite some time and finally this month I bought them. I really liked the look of these online but they look even better in person, especially with the red sole which comes around the sides. I was slightly apprehensive about buying them as last winter I bought a black and white pair of Givenchy hi-tops and although I thought they looked excellent they were uncomfortable to wear for a few months (before I broke them in) and they made an awful squeaking noise.
These particular hi-tops are slightly different to another pair of which are named “Givenchy Tyson Hi-Tops” (see here) although very similar those come with the black laces and different top of the tongue. I prefer these white laced versions as they feel more casual like a trainer with all the boldness and flare of the designer styling.
Where to start with the review..I just love them, they are my favourite purchase in a long time. They’re not as heavy as my last pair (although still much heavier than your standard shoe) and they’re very comfortable to wear, i’m a size 9 and a bit and a 43 is perfect. The detailing of the metal stars looks great along the top of the tongue and everything about this shouts luxury. I’ve not worn them out for a day yet but I will make sure I’ll update this review if there’s anything I dislike or notice. If I had to pick out the one flaw about these shoes it would be the price, they’re not cheap and were about £200 more than my last pair of Givenchy’s however if you’re after something special in a hi-top trainer this is the one.
