How to spot Fake Yeezy Boost 700 Wave Runners

It’s been a long time coming but as you will have seen at the begining of the year I managed to buy an authentic pair of Yeezy Boost 700 Wave Runners, which I loved and reviewed.

So keeping in line with my previous spotting fake Yeezys guides I’ve published this one on How to spot fake Yeezy Boost 700 Wave Runners.

The Box

Like every fake Yeezy box these look a lot different to the real ones; the size of the box is wrong, far too small and this particular fake doesn’t have the sticker with the sizing and shoe number.

The Mesh Patterns

The Yeezy Boost 700’s have a unique design on the upper which looks like a blue/green mesh. On a real pair this should be dark and closely spaced, on the fakes they appear a lot lighter and constructed in thinner material.

The Leather

This is probably the easiest way to tell if your Wave Runners are real or not; on the front of the sneaker the V shaped leather/suede has a rough finish on the fakes it’s much smoother to look and touch. The stitching on the fakes is a lot more defined too, it looks darker then an authentic pair.

The leather on the sides near the lace ties is another indicator too, a real pair should look crinkled and slighly worn whereas the fakes look smooth and lighter.

The Whole Sneaker Shape

This might sound quite obvious but the shape overall looks different. This can be difficult to see when you don’t have a real pair next to it but the fakes are slightly blockier and taller. This is apparent in the black material shape on the outsides, it looks thicker and takes up more room.

The Heel

Again the leather finish is different as per the front with the stitching looking more defined on a fake pair. Another identifier is to look down on the heels, you should not see any of the mesh around the heel rim, whereas the fakes clearly have the pattern creeping around the inside.

The Reflector Material

Unique to the Yeezy Boost 700 Wave Runners these have a number of areas on the sneaker that reflect to light, this can be seen if you use a flash from your camera or phone. On a real par the 2 circular shapes in the black material are larger than on the fakes and also appear closer together. The first of the 3 adidas stripes is very small on a real pair too which isn’t the case on the fakes.
