Jones Bootmaker Sunday Best Derby Lace Ups

I don’t own a lot of formal wear, it’s not that I don’t like the style but there’s very rarely an occasion when I have to wear it. I would much rather wear a more relaxed outfit but there are still those times of the year where I do need smarter options in the wardrobe

I came across these very nice looking Derby lace ups by a brand called Jones Bootmaker (see here). What made these shoes stand out from the rest of the catalog were the subtle details around the shoe; in particular the colour of the laces, it features both black and red laces which I’ve never seen before – to be truthful I wasn’t entirely sure how to do them up at first..

They look very smart, a nice contrast of black shiny leather on top coupled with the different shades of brown material on the sole. The shoes aren’t very heavy to wear either which is quite nice, the cut around the ankle is quite rigid so I imagine these need to be worn in properly before they become properly comfortable. Overall a very nice smart Derby shoe and would recommend to anyone who is looking for somthing a bit unusual.
