I’d say for the last few years my adidas collection has grown at a much faster rate than my Nike’s. That’s not to say I’ve not bought Nike’s over the years (Presto’s and AF1’s have been some of my favourites) but this year the tides have definitely turned. The Nike Vapormax is fast becoming one of the most popular shoes this year which is evident by the group of youths hanging around the displays in sports stores – for me, I’m still deciding which colourway to invest in.
This brings me on to the Nike Air Wild – a relatively quiet and un-promoted release by Nike that slipped in under the radar of most sneakerheads. The Nike Air Wild’s come in 3 initial colourways; Black, Light one (which is what I’m reviewing) and Golden Beige. The shoe features a synthetic textile upper, foam sole and heel airbag.
I originally bought a UK 10 as I thought the sizing would be small (use to adidas) but actually the Nike Air Wilds fit true to size, so I had to return and order a UK 9.5. They are well padded inside and are comfortable to wear, the look is great, really subtle details and a great shape. They are nice to wear, slightly heavier than any boosts (as you’d expect) and more bulky but look fantastic. Reasonable cost too at £105, I bought mine on ASOS.
