I’m always on the lookout for new places to shop, both in the real world and online. I recently came across a website called Pysche.co.uk and it really caught my attention; not just because of the brands they stock but because of the company history and culture, the extract below is taken from their website:
From humble beginnings, Managing Director, Steve Cochrane, opened his first business in the North-East seaside town of Redcar in 1982. It was quirkily named, Sliced Tomatoes. This was a small boutique for the aspiring punk rocker to showcase his band’s unique dress style. Quickly, Steve realised he was better at business and fashion than he was at playing in a band and in 1984 the first Psyche boutique was born. Innovation was already top of Steve’s wish list as he brought high end designer brands such as Helmut Lang, Gucci, Dries Van Noten and Prada to the North East of England for the very first time. Customers couldn’t get enough and so a second store opened in 1988. This quickly became a landmark for the industrial town of Middlesbrough.
There’s some really nice features about the website too, I really like the ability to take a virtual tour around the physical store, here’s some shot I took from the website.
Physche have a really nice selection of brands to buy from too, including some of my favourites; Hugo Boss, Dsquared2, Fred Perry and Levi, I’ve had a look through and picked out some pieces I would love to own in the run up to winter.
